State Republicans today elected Charleston lawyer Mike Stuart their new chairman.
Stuart won over 74-45 over current incumbent Doug McKinney, who’s been party chief since 2006.
Troy Berman, who was hired by McKinney last year as the party’s executive director, says he’s no longer working for the party now that McKinney is out.

Congratulations to Mike Stuart. While I know some will say that I am unhappy,but I am not. I have said all along that people who disagreed with Doug should have done something. That is what happened. Hope we can all get along.

Guess now that Doug is gone money will immediately begin rolling into WV GOP HQ? It will be interesting to watch the State and FEC reports. We have less than 100 days to beat an opponent that outnumbers us 2.5 to 1. I wish Mike and his new team well … at the same time, I’m glad I’m not him. It will take every one of the Doug bashers on here to pony up and get with the program for real because there was some real division left by the “Smack down in’Mo Town” as I heard someone call it. Congratulations Mike and Team – forget celebrating because there aint no time for it now.
