Enjoy your last day as Chairman, Doug.

Wow, 12 candidates total, for senate! 10 Republicans! What a mess!
Go Mike!
Do you think Troy Berman packs before or after the meeting?
I’ve seen several State GOP Chairmen over the years: John Raese, David McKinley, Steve LeRose, Kris Warner, Robin Capehart, Doug McKinney. Some ran into some dissatisfaction here and there. But you could put their problems all together and they still wouldn’t equal the headaches Doug McKinney has given himself and the rest of us over his tenure.
Anyone who has this hard of a problem getting along with others was never cut out for politics, which requires a few people skills. It seemed sometimes like Doug was actively trying to alienate others.
Please make this nightmare end this weekend. We will all salute you
for this great service to the party.
A new Rasmussen poll is out. Manchin 51%,Raese 35%.
Manchin by 16 at the start? That’s uphill but beatable, especially if the national GOP gets engaged with TV ads.
I doubt the NRSC gets involved in a Manchin v. Raese match up, besides John is wealthy enough that he doesn’t need their financial support. Also, I hope he puts cash into a victory program this year to help our candidates down the ballot.
I’m absolutely disgusted over this election. The fact that our party is not strong enough to support a single viable candidate should be all that is necessary to explain our current state of affairs. No wonder Shelly didn’t want to run. What a mess.
Mike- The WVGOP hasn’t been able to financially support any candidate since 2006, that’s one of the reasons Mike Stuart is running.
It’s not the job of the party to finance individual campaigns–that’s the individual campaigns’ job. Party provides infrastrcture, message and research support, and other “intangibles” to the individual campaigns.
But your right that these have all been nonexistant since 2006.
Though, we do have that money pit of a headquarters to point to as a success?
MIKE STUART IS THE NEW WVGOP CHAIR – WE DID IT!!!
Congratulations, Mike! WV Republicans showed Obama a thing or two about Change and Transformation, eh? What a breath of fresh air, and just in the nick of time.
So does this mean Doug McKinney will (FINALLY) go away, or will he be back?
