We will be taking a break from posting on West Virginia Red for a few days, unless some major political news happens. Our contributors will return to regular postings on Monday, December 28th. This is an open thread for readers to discuss anything over the few days of our Christmas hiatus. The West Virginia Red team would like to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas!

I have two separate yet similar messages here for all to read. The differences in these two messages are the very reason WE ALL NEED to come together and quit bickering and elect new leadership for our Country, State, and local communities. CIRCLE THE WAGONS AND GET ‘EM IN ’10!!!!
To All My Democratic Friends:
Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within
the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice
religious or secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2010 but not without due
respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere.
Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishes.
To My Republican Friends:
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Well, You got all your P C talking points in. I’m not impressed. Your “Republican Friends” are a figment of your imagination.
Ronald R., I am deeply offended you chose that particular name to respond to me with. I would prefer if in the future you would pick something a little more appropriate to comment under, I am in a generous mood this particular holiday season so I will give you a few suggestions…for future posts please consider using names such as Jimmy C., or Dan Q., or Billy Jeff C., or dare I say it? B.O. Any of the above suggestions would compliment your connotation much better.
Red in SA. Well said on all 3 messages. As the new year begins lets all support the Conservative (& hoping they r Republican)candidate of your choice in the primary, then who ever wins (for the ones that hve competition)lets get behind all Conservative candidates & do whatever we can to help & not give foder to the libs. If someone in the party is doing something u feel is wrong either talk to them personally or if it doesn’t affect ur candidate ignore it. I heard I guy say one time FIDO (forget it move on) cleaned it up a bit. thats what we should do
MERRY CHRISTMAS & A HAPPY NEW YEAR
“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.” Luke 2:11-14
Merry Christmas everyone!
