Sheriff Danny Wills
A search warrant was released on Thursday from the West Virginia U.S. Attorney’s Office, Drug Enforsement Administration showing that officers were authorized to search Sheriff Danny Wills’ offices in the Mercer County Courthouse for controlled substances inventories, dispensing records, ordering invoices and theft/loss forms.
Wills, a Democrat, who was elected to his second term as Mercer County sheriff, had previously worked as both a West Virginia State Police Trooper and a medical doctor.
Unofficial reports circulated Thursday that Wills intended to resign soon, possibly by the end of the day, but Mercer County Commissioners Joe Coburn, Karen Disibbio and Jay Mills said they had received no such word.

Another case of what is wrong with WV’s legal system. What we hear about is the tip of the ice berg. For an example, why is it that lawyers can advise that Bar rules were broken to merit filing a Bar complaint, a lawyer is hired to write and file a complaint and the Bar rules that wrongdoing did not occur? Is it that lawyers are untruthful to get business, they don’t understand the Bar rules, or is it that unless a case is high profile, the Bar refuses to act so lawyers can be protected? Most subscribe to the last proposition. There can’t be that many lawyers and citizens in WV who are uncapable of understanding Bar rules.
Another corrupt Democrat politician that needs to be run out of office. This man is running a doctor’s office out of his official office in the Mercer County courthouse. I guess the crime rate in Mercer County is so low that he has time to see patients while he is working on the state dime.
Yikes… and I thought Stan Farley in Putnam County was bad!
No surprise, it seems that you have be a criminal to belong to today’s democrat party.
