Of particular note in the Mollohans’ holdings was a beach home worth millions on North Carolina’s Bald Head Island, owned in conjunction with a former staffer who now runs a foundation that has received millions in Mollohan earmarks.

STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA COUNTY OF BRUNSWICK NOTICE OF SUBSTITUTE TRUSTEE’S FORECLOSURE SALE OF REAL PROPERTY

Under and by virtue of an order of the Clerk of Superior Court of Brunswick County, North Carolina authorizing foreclosure in Special Proceeding No. 09 SP 1069 entitled “In the Matter of the Foreclosure of the Deed of Trust from Alan B. Mollohan, Barbara W. Mollohan, Donald L. Kuhns and Laura K. Kuhns” which deed of trust was recorded in Book 2063, Page 1014 in the Office of the Register of Deeds of Brunswick County, North Carolina (the “Deed of Trust”) and the power and authority contained in the Deed of Trust; and after a hearing pursuant to the provisions of Article 2A of Chapter 45 of the General Statutes of the State of North Carolina; and because of default in the payment of the indebtedness secured by the Deed of Trust and failure to carry out or perform the stipulations and agreements therein contained and pursuant to the demand of the owner and holder of the indebtedness secured by said Deed of Trust, the undersigned, Jeffrey P. Keeter, Substitute Trustee, will expose for sale at public auction to the highest bidder for cash on the 21st day of October, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Courthouse Door, Brunswick County Courthouse, Building S, 310 Government Center Drive, NE, Bolivia North Carolina, the real property of Alan B. Mollohan, Barbara W. Mollohan, Donald L. Kuhns and Laura K. Kuhns as more particularly described on Exhibit A attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference (including any improvements thereon)
