We ask that you all to help us. It takes time to unravel more than 70 years of a one party system and we are committed to accomplishing that. Won't you help us? Substance for me is very simple - the republican party should go back to the Reaganesque notion of limited government. Sadly, George W did not do that. Believe me, more people are involved in the Kanawha GOP than ever before... and I submit that more people are involved here than are associated with the WVGOP. Also, it should be noted that we just elected a new Republican to the Prosecutor's Office, we have three members of the House, a Republican Clerk, Mayors and city council people, a Republican Commissioner. Not to mention, we have THE ONLY Republican elected to Federal office, Shelley Moore Capito. All this for a county more than 2 to 1 Democrat. I realize that in order to rebuild a devastated party the Lincoln Day dinners and all the other fun stuff must be done. But, at the end of the day there must be some substance -- and the substance must stand in stark contrast to the democrats - otherwise there is no difference between the parties. Contributed several thousands of dollars to candidates and supported several issues in our county and state. They have become a force that is recognized as active in the local government. Plans for the future will make sure we have viable and worthy candidates that will win and make a difference for Kanawha County and West Virginia. I have been so impressed with the Kanawha County Executive Committee for a very long time; they run a very tight ship down there--I only wish I didn't live so far away from Charleston so I could participate in their activities! And while she is too modest to admit it, a large portion of their success can be attributed to their leadership. Melody, you are in my prayers as you maintain this battle against cancer; it is clear to me that your strength comes from a very deep well within you. I want to add my voice to the chorus.
