Celebrate Freedom and Liberty, Denounce Earth Day

Today, all your hybrid driving co-workers who want to fit in with the Starbucks/Seattle’s Best crowd will be celebrating Earth Day. You know these people. They love the Charleston Gazette, they hate coal and coal-fired electricity, are probably sporting a “Friends of the Mountains” bumper sticker on their Prius.

I encourage you to resist joining the anti-freedom and anti-liberty festivities today. In fact, you should counter their efforts by allowing your over-sized luxurious SUV to idle in the driveway before heading out today.

This date, April 22nd, is Earth Day. It’s also the birth date of Vladimir Lenin, a follower of Karl Marx and promulgator of Marxism-Leninism. Marx, of course, is the guy who invented communism. Enjoy your freedom. Do not celebrate Earth Day. Denounce it.

“Burn Your AARP Card” Event Garners Media Attention

The Charleston Gazette reports

BurnAARPCardPromoFinal“Health-reform opponents are planning “Burn your AARP card” events in West Virginia to protest the group’s endorsement of the House health-care bill, the blog West Virginia Red reports.”

“A Charleston protest is planned for Sat. Dec 5 at noon, in front of CAMC in Kanawha City. Events are apparently planned for other cities, too, but the details aren’t firmed up.”

“Protest organizer and Republican candidate for the House of Delegates Fred Joseph says many participants are Tea Party members. While the title of the event is symbolic, “we will have the ability for people to burn their cards.”

“They’ll use a chimenea for the fire. (What about all the discounts they’ll lose out on?)”

“AARP, meanwhile, has announced it’s teamed up with the American Medical Association for an ad campaign to fight reform opponents’ “scare tactics.””

“The group also released a poll Nov. 16  showing that 63 percent of its members back the legislation.”

EVENT: Burn Your AARP Card

A group of concerned West Virginians have organized an event to protest the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) support of President Obama’s health care reform plan.

This event comes as polling data from Rasmussen Polling shows that AARP’s reputation is being hurt by it vocal support of President Obama health care reform efforts.

Only 18% of people polled believe that seniors join AARP because they support the political agenda of the organization.
